Do I Need to Work Out Every Day?

It’s not necessary to exercise every day. It’s actually better to have 1-2 days of complete rest every week. But having a scheduled rest or recovery day does not mean you should avoid being active completely on those days.

Light exercises like walking your dog or stretching and doing foam rolling can help improve blood flow and relieve tension in muscles. It is recommended to have rest days and a well-balanced recovery routine to lower the risk of injuries and ensure the longevity of your fitness routine.

How Much Weight Should I Use When Strength Training?

It is important to keep in mind that when you are strength training, your workout should be the main focus. Avoid paying attention to the amount of weight others are lifting to complete their workouts.

Better gauge your workout intensity; pay attention to how hard you feel you’re working on a scale of 1 to 10. For strength training, aim for a perceived exertion of 7 to 9, meaning each repetition should feel difficult, and the last sets and reps should be especially challenging. If you finish a workout without feeling challenged, it’s probably time to increase your weight during your next session.

How Often Should I Rest?

To clarify, the amount of rest you need depends on your workout schedule. As I mentioned before, I suggest having one or two full rest days scheduled. This not only allows your body to recover from exercise but can also be beneficial for your mental health by providing an opportunity for self-care.

What Can I Do About Muscle Soreness?

In optimal recovery from muscle soreness, a few factors must be considered. Firstly, ensure that your nutrition is on point by eating foods that will fuel your body and workouts, giving your muscles the necessary nutrients for recovery. Adequate rest and sleep are also crucial in aiding your recovery, as full rest allows your muscles the time they need to repair.

How Long Does It Take to See Results?

It may take about 6-8 weeks or longer to notice any changes in your body through the program. It is understandable to feel discouraged because we are used to getting fast results. Despite not seeing the changes on the scale right away, do not lose hope, as your effort is making a significant positive difference.

To keep track of your progress, you can try measuring the fit of your clothing, attempting more difficult or lengthier workouts, or taking photos and comparing them later. Celebrate the small victories as they arise and use them to motivate yourself to keep going. Remember to pay attention to your body and all the subtle changes you notice over time.

What’s the Best Diet for My Fitness Goals?

In order to succeed in your new routine, your diet is crucial. No matter what your goals are, it is important to provide your body with the necessary fuel and energy to power through and recover from your workouts. With so many diets available, the choice ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Advice is to prioritize eating more whole foods in your diet. It can positively impact your workout performance since the nutrients you consume affect your body. Eating fresh foods with high-quality content can make a difference, so try to incorporate them into your meals as much as possible.
